A LAZY FISH<\/h2>\n

The Pigra Tinca owes its name to a traditional inhabitant of the Trasimeno lake, where the restaurant lies: the tench. This lake-water fish used to go in hibernation in the muddy lake-bottom without moving, from here the nickname \u201clazy\u201d.
\nAs the tench, the building that today hosts the namesake restaurant is strongly connected with the lake, as it now lies on the place that used to be the jetty for ferries. The ferries, out and out floating houses, became popular because of their comfort and elegance.

FROM THE JETTY TO THE RESTAURANT<\/h2>\n

At the end of the 50s, after the selling of the place to the town of Castiglione del Lago (the beach owes to this the name \u201cLido Comunale\u201d – council beach), the management pass to the Trasimeno Autonomous Company of Stay and Vacation (Azienda autonoma di Soggiorno e Villeggiatura del Trasimeno) who rename the restaurant bringing back the idea of slowness, calm and relax, typical of the ferries of the XIX century, the \u201cPigra Tinca\u201d.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/qode_elements_holder_item][\/qode_elements_holder][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row css_animation=”” row_type=”row” use_row_as_full_screen_section=”no” type=”full_width” angled_section=”no” text_align=”left” background_image_as_pattern=”without_pattern” z_index=”” background_color=”#e0dbc3″][vc_column][qode_elements_holder number_of_columns=”two_columns”][qode_elements_holder_item vertical_alignment=”middle” advanced_animations=”no”][vc_column_text el_class=”mw700″]The story of the Pigra Tinca restaurant (\u201cThe lazy Tench\u201d) blends with the story of the town of Castiglione del Lago.
